INTRODUCTION
Founded in August of 2005, IMAS (Indiana Masters and slaves/submissives/switches) has grown to be one of the largest and most reputable organizations in the state of Indiana. This reputation is largely due to the common belief in a community that practices acceptance and tolerance. Although initially conceived to fill the need for Male Dominants to have a place to express themselves. The group itself has grown far beyond that initial mandate and its membership proudly represents the entire pansexual BDSM/Leather community.
In 2006, IMAS was nominated for a Pantheon of Leather Award, in the catagory of Small Group of the Year. A Pantheon Award is considered the single highest award bestowed upon an active member or organization in the BDSM Community.
We have grown to accomplish a great many things in the 4 years we have been around. As active participants in the community our members have been found at most local, regional and national events, speaking to classes and individuals about the BDSM lifestyle and offering real life experience.
In 2009, we have hosted two open community events. These were not coordinated as membership drives but simply to offer the community a safe environment in which to explore the lifestyle, and its many facets. We hope to see even more people at the next open community event.
In August we will also be participating for the fourth year in a row at GLLA (Great Lakes Leather Alliance) which is the Midwestern Regional Event for many of the leather titles the community actively supports. This year we are hosting the Saturday cookout. Thanks to our fundraising the past year we are able to provide food for the up to 600 people who are expected to be at this event.
Of course the greatest asset IMAS has is its members. Nowhere else will you find such a wide range of people who are friendly, and strongly believe that every individual with an interest in BDSM has a place in the community. In addition to community events, IMAS offers monthly play parties for its members, as well as instruction and mentoring from experiences people from every facet of the BDSM//Leather communities

IMAS is pleased to announce that our Master Eric, an IMAS member and Host with His beauty of the Indy Slosh was named International Mr Leather Olympus 2009. Ms Simone, of Chicago,a former IMAS member and first female Dominant in IMAS was named International Ms Leather Olympus 2009.

IMAS is pleased to announce that today at GLLA 2009, di (BD's di) was presented her first piece of earned leather by Miss Kendra McClain, Exececutive Director of GLLA who has earned her leathers through service. It was noted at the brunch where the presentations were made that only those that have earned their 3 pieces of leather may give leathers to others. This comes from a tradition steeped in history in the leather community. Congratulations to di, IMAS Member and Secretary to the Board, upon this outstanding achievement. |
